There are things that are meant to be and me reaching your blog is one of them. I cam across your blog because of your post today on Little MS Sunshine. I receive a Google alert on all articles published that deal with MS. The reason being I have MS. I digress though, I am contacting you because I know two people who are the richest people in the world and I would love to introduce you to them.
One is my young niece who is 19 year old who on March the 19th will celebrate a two year anniversary of an auto accident where she suffered Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) She was in a coma for a period of time in Pediatric Intensive Care and transferred as quickly as possible to Shepherd Center, a wonderful Rehabilitation Hospital with all levels of care a patient might need. Kristin was very determined never allowed this to stand in her way once she came out of the coma—she strived to continue school while in the hospital and rehabilitating as was able to graduate with her class that year. It was her determination, he parents love and support and the great staff at Shepherd Center. I think my niece is very rich but more than that we are because she is still with us. She was always special but now she is more than special she is very special and she realizes that—Her mother is Renee and you might contact her at jobear4@bellsouth.net.
The second one is my friend Monica who has just suffered her second TIA but does not slow down as she fights for her children–as they are her life. Her oldest son recently completed his active duty career with the Army and remains in the National Guards but is suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PSTD). Her young son and middle child has joined the Marines something he has always dreamed of doing and will be reporting for active duty as soon as he officially walks across the stage at graduation in early June after having
all his classes early. Her youngest child and baby is a daughter who has asthma. Oh and Monica is single and fights for her kids alone—and I do mean fight. She is taking on the government to assure not just her son but all veterans receive the benefits they deserve once they serve their country. That could be the reason she suffered her recent second TIA—who knows she does not listen and slow down—but she fights–it is for that so many others are richer but she is rich as well. I would like for you to meet my friend Monica you can contact her justmonicainwf@yahoo.com or you can check her blog out at http://www.thiswomansjourney.blogspot.com/
Thank you for your time and considering of these very worthy candidates.

My son Evan and I had the pleasure of meeting Cheryl and Leonard recently in Hawaii. It was a chance meeting on a van that was taking us to jet ski on the island of O’Hau. My introduction to the occupants of the van was a little on the rough side, due to the driver of the van being extremely combative. Apparently the driver had been looking for my son and me for some time and was quite perturbed. Evan and I had just come from parasailing and needed to stop for a restroom break. Evidently we took too long and the van driver made no bones about how dismayed he was about his wait. As the driver berated me over and over for “thinking the world revolved around me” Cheryl reached over a hand and calmly placed it on my leg and reassured me it was not me, but that the company running the jet ski program was poorly organized and hence the surly attitude of the driver. How comforting that was, as she and Leonard both added words of encouragement. Little did either of them know when they initially began talking to me, that I too, was chronically ill. Suffering from both Lupus and Crohn’s Disease I rarely find anyone that sympathizes with me. On the outside, I look fine…now…after knocking out my immune system every eight weeks with chemo-like infusions. Anyone that is familiar with Crohn’s knows that it manifests itself in many areas, particularly in the digestive track. …the reason for my extended restroom break that the van driver felt was unnecessary. Cheryl and Leonard were such wonderful people as they assured me that I handled myself in a professional manner, that I soon forgot the “dressing-down”
I received from the van driver. They seemed to know intrinsically that I needed to hear what they had to say.
So…on to the fun. Let me tell you, Cheryl was anything but “pitiful” she definitely exhibited “powerful.” Having never been jet skiing before, she didn’t hesitate to hop on board with Leonard. They raced around the jet ski course and when pausing to play with the buoy marking the course, capsized the jet ski. Talk about being powerful…both Cheryl and Leonard breezed through this “wave in the ocean.” Leonard calmly talked Cheryl through getting herself back up onto the jet ski. For Cheryl, this demanded both internal fortitude and upper body strength…as I said, this is where the powerful was very evident. Leonard showed tremendous strength in maintaining a calm demeanor while “righting his wife” and continuing in his adventurous spirit.
It was an honor and pleasure to meet them both !
Susan
